YouPerView's FAQ's

You're a talented and creative person. You have knowledge and experience that others will gladly pay to see. Videos released on the Internet have had thousands of views and some have had over 50 million views. Forget about giving away your valuable video content for free and forget about complicated ad share programs that don't pay you nearly enough! Sell your video at the price you choose, whether it's $0.25 or $99.99, its your choice. You make 100% of your price. YouPerView will give viewers a free snippet-preview of your video. If they like it, they'll buy it.

  1. How do I get started?
    The first thing to do is signup. Then you will be able to do whatever you wish, including uploading videos and purchasing videos.
  2. How do I sign up?
    By clicking on the signup link here or at the top of YouPerView’s homepage, you will be taken to a page that asks for your basic information. You will be asked to select a Username (which will be public) and a Password (private). Then you will fill in your personal information (private). By signing up, you will have all-access to YouPerView, for uploading, purchasing and all other features.
  3. How do I upload?
    Once you have signed up, you can click on the Upload tab at the top of the page. You will be taken to a page, which instructs you how to upload your video including requirements and technical details. Here are some of those details:
    • YouPerView is now accepting content for any category you can imagine. You must own your video content and spamming is not allowed.
    • Video file size is currently limited to 500MB (or about 40 minutes of high quality video). If your video is longer, you must break it up into separate parts or contact our tech support at techsupport@youperview.com
    • Choose a title for your video, a description (1000 characters max)
    • Set the price you would like to receive for each view of your video (.20 to 99.99 in $US). You will receive 100% of that amount.
    • There is also an upload time limit of about 4 hours (this is the time to upload the file, not the length of the video file). If it takes longer than this, your video upload could fail.
    • Submit an optional "preview snippet" up to 1 minute in length. This is free and will entice viewers to buy your video. Don't give away all the goods though! Keep the best content for the purchase.
    • If you do not submit a preview snippet, the first 30 seconds of your video will automatically be used.
    • Most video formats are supported. Most likely formats to work are mpg, mov, avi, wmv, ogm and flv, though you can create one of these that will cause problems. Just try your format, we'll let you know if there is a problem.
  4. Is there a cost to upload?
    There is no cost to upload on YouPerView for the average video. If, however, you request special accommodations or customization for your video, there may be a cost on a case-by-case basis.
  5. Can anyone upload?
    Yes, anyone can upload to YouPerView as long as they comply with the User Agreement.
  6. Are there content restrictions?
    Pornography is not allowed on YouPerView. There are no other restrictions on content as long as it complies with the User Agreement guidelines.

  8. How do I get paid?
    When your video begins selling, you will be paid every two-weeks after the initial period as outlined in the User Agreement. A check will be sent to you, payable to your name, business entity, charitable foundation or organization of your choice for all payable proceeds, which have accrued in your account. You will be able to go to “My Account” to view your balances and make changes to your account.
  9. How much money can I make?
    There is no limit on the amount of money you can earn via YouPerView Instant Box Office. You will make 100% of the amount you have selected to receive for your video.
  10. Can my proceeds go to charity?
    Absolutely. YouPerView hopes that many people will upload content for the purpose of benefiting charitable causes of all kinds.
  11. Is YouPerView politically affiliated?
    No. YouPerView is an equal opportunity, user generated website. All points of view are welcome here. YouPerView may promote particular content on the homepage based on potential audience appeal and size only.
  12. How do I purchase?
    If you have signed up and are logged in, you will be able to purchase anything available on YouPerView with a major credit card. You may purchase single videos a-la-carte or you may choose to purchase a discounted block pass.
  13. How do I search?
    You can find videos of interest by searching the Categories index. Also, when you click on a particular video preview, you will see additional similar videos displayed.
  14. Where can I view the User Agreement?
    On the signup page, you will be presented with the User Agreement for participation on YouPerView.
  15. Where can I view the Privacy Policy?
    On the signup page, you will be presented with the Privacy Policy for participation on YouPerView.
